If anyone is in the area and would like a chat I'll be at the Wedding Fair in the Shyberry Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie on Sunday 7th March 2010. It's free entry and there should be some interesting exhibitors.
Photoshoots and updates
I'm in the midst of a series of fantastic photoshoots at the moment. After which I'll be redesigning the site. So look out for some new images, more outfits and a slightly different direction for the website.
Also, unfortunately I'm not doing any markets at the moment. I've been too busy all spring and summer and the one I was hoping to do this autumn hasn't come to pass. However I'll hopefully get something in before Christmas and as always, if anyone would like to discuss a corset or outfit just get in touch and I'll get the kettle on!
New corsets
I've added a few new corset pics to the gallery. There'll be more to come soon.
Crikey Aphrodite will be at the Made in the Shade Springtime Jamboree market in Oran Mor on Sunday April 5th.
More details of what I'll be taking along nearer the time.
It seems a while away but it really isn't! Lots to do as I want to have more corset samples with me this time rather than just my portfolio book.
I will of course have plenty of garters, suspender belts and other goodies with me too.
Hope to see you there.
Corset in progress
I've had this corset on the go for ages...like a year! I keep putting it aside for other things as corsets for me rather take a back seat. Annoyingly it's about 80% finished and it's mostly handwork that needs done. My thinking is that the more I post it and look at it, the more likely I am to find the time to finish it!
It's loosely based on an antique corset in a private collection and is a beautiful peacock blue silk. The bust gussets are hand embroidered with a vine motif and the front panels are corded. It will be flossed on all the boning channels and trimmed with silk ribbon down the busk. It will be.... sometime!
The antique...
Here's a wee pic of my embroidered bust gores...
Welcome to the Crikey Aphrodite blog. I'll be announcing new designs, press attention, and of course fairs and markets where you can see our stock in person and chat about anything you would like to see. I might waffle on a bit too when I get the chance. Feedback and comments are welcome. I want to create the sort of items that you dream about.
